John Journey

BASIC STRUCTURE OF THE JOHN JOURNEY PROGRAMME

The John Journey programme includes four steps. These steps will help the student to understand evangelism, discipleship, house church planting and community development. The programme uses the Gospel of John as a tool to assist the student:

  • Coffee with John – evangelism strategy
  • Growing with John – discipleship process
  • Planting with John – house church planting process
  • Church with John – community church development

Another tool is a physical little wooden cross which reminds students of the following:

  • Relationship with God – knowing God (the top of the Cross),
  • Relationship with unbelievers – Befriend unbelievers (left arm of the Cross),
  • Relationship with the church – Relating to a community of believers (right arm of the Cross)
  • Overcoming the enemy (the bottom of the Cross).

The outcomes of this discipleship process are:

  • Mentoring to get to know God
  • Evangelizing to eventually plant a house church
  • Teaching worship and
  • Dealing with the strongholds

John Journey is a simple, yet effective programme to help believers to disciple others to become followers of Christ.

Cost & Information

John Journey Training seminars are divided into 2 sessions, introduction and follow up with more content being taught to the participants.

All the participants are required to do reflections (I’m the John Journey Bible) and practically plant the Church in order to receive the certificate during the second last session.

The RM play the role as they arrange this training which we now have them once per month across the country. They pay R150 pp per session. This covers lunch, John Journey Bible and it excludes the John Journey DVD. In short, if someone had not planted the Church they don’t graduate. When I say Church it’s either house church, cell church or lion church etc…
